How long must you suffer? How long must you be ignored? So much hate and so much pain towards a race that owns this place This land, this nation. An eraser big enough does not exist. A delete key strong enough will not suffice. When did anyone think it was all okay? It is a shame to know today what has been done in the past Two decades inside this confederation yet today, only today I learn.... This land and people pre-existed before Canada became a so-called nation. Indigenous cultures have all been hidden, beaten, and silenced. The schools opened and closed, the lives given but lost. The voices silenced, and ears closed. The children sold, and women touched. The names, labels and stereotyping we have all bought into Today I learnt of the blood many shed behind, The cries of the children wanting their parents while being abused and neglected. The pain a chief felt for wanting to lead his people with fear of punishment. The love a woman felt but unable to marry. The lands excavated with dirt and bones. The fight once held, and many times lost. Reconciliation they say, what is there to reconcile if the truth has been hidden and taken apart Trying to unite the puzzle pieces, the kindest nation have try to hide. Education has missed the history, our history. We learnt of wars around our world, and all the countless lives that were lost, but what of our own backyard..... Do they not get a voice, do their lives no matter, was their blood not red enough? If we neglect to educate our future, how can we truly learn from our past?

The lack of knowledge bestowed on my generation is blamed on everyone with no one at fault. This oblivion we have grown up in must be stopped, must be halted....

We must be the ones to say enough. Educate yourself, educate each other be a voice for someone that has theirs covered unwillingly. Open the ears of those whom grew up and were force to have them shut.

Elevate each other in knowledge and lend a helping hand. A lie cannot be bought into if the truth is shared Maybe not at first, but now the truth can be shared continuously on

Make a stand and be ignorant no more.
